7 Easy Ways to Look Better in Photos

Need ways to look better in Photos? One of the worst feelings in the world is getting all dolled up, feeling confident about how you look in the mirror, then checking the pic your friend just took of the two of you only to be shocked at the person staring back -- that can't be you! You looked so good a minute ago! Unfortunately, there's something about cameras that can occasionally change the way you really look. Luckily for you, we have the ten best tricks to make sure you look amazing in every photo from here on out.

1. The Slimming Trick.

The way you stand can easily add or subtract ten pounds. If you're going for the latter (duh!) you need to stand with your hips a shoulder's length apart, your weight on your back foot, and your front leg slightly bent at the knee.

2. Don't square off your body.

Never stand at the camera face on -- always turn 3/4 or just stand sideways if you're with a group of people.

3. Forehead foward, chin down.

This one is pretty self-explanatory -- push your forehead slightly forward, and tilt your chin a bit close to your neck. This will accentuate your jawline and get rid of any double-chin action.

4. Arms out.

You see this all the time, because it's a great way to slim your arms and look less frumpy. Stand with the arm closest to the camera on your hip, preferably on the smallest part of your hip.

5. Relax your smile.

Some people just have a hard time faking it. All you need to do for a natural smile is place your tongue on the back of your top teeth, breathe normally, and think about something happy.

6. Wear the right makeup.

This can be a bit different for each different face, but here are a few general rules for photography makeup:

- Wear matte makeup that doesn't shine or shimmer

- Wear it slightly darker than usually, especially around your eyes with a nice black liner or mascara

- Choose a lipstick that's darker than your normal lip shade

- Wear your blush and bronzer a bit heavier than normal to accentuate your cheek bones

7. Add extra lift and body to your hair.

You don't want a flat head for photos, so don't be afraid to get a bit liberal with your mousse and hairspray.
