5 Step Guide to Preparing For a Bridal Boudoir Shoot
Wanting to book a bridal boudoir shoot, but feeling a bit nervous? The best way to deal with nerves is by being prepared, so here are our five tips on prepping for your shoot!
1. Book your shoot far in advance. Considering you've already booked your wedding far in advance as well, this step shouldn't be too hard. It's important to give yourself and the photographer ample time in advance to take care of all the necessary preparations, so don't wait until the last minute!
2. Get your body looking it's finest for the big day. If you're going to wax eyebrows, legs, or anything else, do it a couple days before the shoot so there's no residual redness or dryness. The same thing goes for tanning -- if you want to tan beforehand to ensure a nice even skin tone on the day of your shoot, do it a few days in advance so it has time to even out and not look too unnatural. Finally, moisturize moisturize moisturize! Keep your skin nourished so it glows for your shoot.
3. Wear loose-fitting clothing to the shoot. This step is very important and often gets overlooked, but if you wear a tight bra, shirt or pants, you run the risk of having pressure lines form on your skin, and there's no way to speed up the process to get those to go away.
4. Get your hair and makeup professionally done. You aren't doing your own hair and makeup on your actual wedding day, so don't do it for your boudoir shoot! This is a time to primp yourself, feel fancy, and spend a little extra money on something that's going to give you long-lasting memories. Especially if you aren't used to doing your makeup for photography, professional artists will be able to tell what looks good on camera, and what doesn't.
5. Bring a wide variety of clothing options. Your photographer knows that you probably have multiple favorite undergarments and fun dress-up clothes, so explore all your options and figure out at the shoot which outfits will be best for the look you are going for.
