8 Easy Makeup Tips For Your Boudoir Shoot

While we usually include a professional makeup artist in your Boudoir package, if you feel like doing it the old DIY way, here are eight great tips on how to get that perfect sexy look that will enhance your face for the camera.

1. Shape and Shade Your Brows

Naturally, you should tweeze any stray hairs off your brow, but if you want to go the extra mile, use a product such as BrowZings to magnify color and wax-hold the shape together.

2. Always Start With A Clean Face

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! Make sure your face is as clean as possible before you even begin applying new makeup -- no last night's mascara, please. If you plan on using a pore strip, do it a day or two before the shoot, otherwise makeup will actually clog your pores more easily.

3. Use Moisturizer

A good moisturizer over a clean face will help your makeup stay on longer, so that your shoot can last as long as it needs without having to re-apply.

4. Maximize Your Concealer Use

First, brighten your eyes by adding concealer to spots where skin may be discolored or more translucent. Blend from the sides of your nose to under your eyes.

5. Always Add Powder

To avoid a caked-on look, add a layer of powder foundation over your concealer to give an even, clean look.

6. Have Fun With Your Eyeliner

For a Boudoir shoot, you may want to take your eyeliner out of the everyday and go with a cat-eye or winged look. While this does take some practice, you can actually buy a cat-eye stencil at your local drugstore to ensure symmetry.

7. Lash-Curling and Mascara

Give your lashes that extra-oomph by squeezing them with a lash-curler. For extra stay, hold the curler under your hair dryer for just a few seconds. For your mascara, be sure to buy something lightweight that won't clump up.

8. To Lipstick or Not To Lipstick?

Many photographers say the natural pink of your lips looks best on camera, but if you enjoy experimenting with colors, choose something fun and flirty or sultry and sexy to complete your Boudoir look.
